Eternal Truth in a Relative Truth World
Our world is progressively moving towards a view that all truth is relative and no truth can be defined as absolute. Yet Jesus claimed to be, 'the Truth' in John 14:6. Plus, he often preceded his teaching with the phrase, "I tell you the truth." In this series continuing through Matthew 5 you will discover some surprising insights Jesus gave on anger, lust, revenge, divorce, reconciliation and more. Even though some think truth is relative, God views it as eternal!
The Credentials of Authority |
If someone is claiming to teach something that is true their credentials must match their claims. This message looks at the unique credentials of Jesus and the response of the original audience to his teachings. It also allows the follower of Jesus to be confident in the belief that the teachings of Jesus are eternal truth!
The Truth about Anger
| A major purpose of Jesus' teaching was to fulfill the Law and the Prophets. This message looks at Jesus' explanation of the 6th commandment, "You shall not murder." His teaching expanded the prohibition to also include selfish anger towards another person, contempt and slander. God cares that people are protected from more than just murder!
Reconciliation

Jesus follows up his expanded teaching on the 6th commandment with helpful pointers on what to do when anger has gotten you into trouble.
